Model # 13061015 | Mfg # HYP RIB 350 WHT

With an advanced fiberglass hull shape, this Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) is quick to plane and handle with ease. The V-section slices through chop for a dry, comfortable ride. The 350 model has an ultra-strong double floor. Roomy interiors afford plenty of cargo space and lightweight construction tops the performance of larger, heavier RIBs. Built-in davit padeyes come factory installed-a feature that normally costs extra. Hypalon RIBs are a good choice for tropical climates; long service life is assured by Pennel Orca 215 Hypalon fabric. The 350 model has four lifting points. Boat includes seat, pump, oars and repair kit.

A very nice dinghy

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

Before I bought this I walked around our marina and saw several WM RIBs more than 5 years old and holding up at least as well as my AB. My wife didn't know about the dinghy bung and lowered it into the water and had the dinghy in the water for two or three days before I went to check on it. I was surprised to see that it only had perhaps a couple of gallons of water that came in through the one way valve, so yes, the one way valve does work! If it wasn't there, the boat would have immediate sank.
We bought a 20hp yamaha and the bouyancy of the tubes is excellent for the 115 lb weight of the engine. With my son and I the dinghy goes around 27mph (around 280 lbs of people weight). With around 600 lbs of passenger weight and the 20hp the dinghy still gets up on a plane easily and goes around 20 mph. Even though the dinghy is rated for around 1300 lbs (the same rating as my 9' AB) it has vastly larger tubes and area than my 9' 6" AB. I feel comfortable with 5 adults in it or 4 adults and a couple kids (which I've done and can still get up on a plane). The dinghy tracks well, easy to maneuver, and the double hull bottom would keep it floating even if the tubes were punctured. The all around rub rail is good and thick, just as it should be and the flooring has a non skid pattern molded in, so you feel secure. Over the last 20 years as a boat owner I've owned a Avon, an AB, and now this, and this dinghy is as good a quality as my past ones. It's certainly the best value out there.

The weight with the engine is light enough I can manually hoist the dinghy onto our arch (with a 4/1 block and tackle fore and aft). Does that forelocker leak? Yes, it's not a dry box, but so did our AB, so I'm not sure about peoples expectations that it wouldn't. I would suggest keeping it's contents in a dry bag and you're fine.

My only wish is that WM would find a supplier for nice of chaps to help preserve the hulls even longer.

OK, Poor quality control

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

We had this boat for a year and a half now. The hatch door leaks, I took it apart and there was no caulking around the edge which was a surprise, and I fixed that but it still leaks around the handle, so its a stupid design. Two of the chambers have no separation, so it was manufactured improperly. I am disappointed in the quality control.

Fast, Dry RIB!

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

We just purchased this boat with a Forespar davit system. With our 9.8 and three adults, we plain easily, haven't tried with four people. This boat is very high out of the water and keeps the wife dry and happy. So far, we love this boat.

OK with some work

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

Owned the boat for 2 weeks.

The drain plug does not work very well. It has a groove in it that lets water into the boat. The "check valve" built into the drain does not work very well motion of the water when underway at slow speed with the plug out allows water into the boat. I am planning on removing the drain plug assembly and putting a regular drain that I can remove from inside the boat.

The hatch on the forward locker leaks. It appears there isn't any caulk under the rim of the hatch. I will be removing it and caulking the hatch.

The oars do not stay in the rubber holders provided. Probably will get rid of them and just throw a paddle in the boat.

Floor is very flexible and makes cracking sounds when walked on, time will tell on this issue.

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

We have had our new RIB for 2 weeks now and simply love it! We put off buying it because we wanted to make sure it was what we wanted, and it has not disapointed! We powered it with a new Suzuki 20hp 4 stroke and it rides great! It is stable and dry, the front locker is nice to pup things away, but it is not completely dry so be choosy what you put i it. Currently we pull it behind our 356 Hunter sailboat and are working on purchasing some good davits for it. Overall, couldn't be happier with our purchase!

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

We've used this dinghy for 2 seasons, and it is holding up well and looking good. Due to the big tubes and dry ride, we get dinghy envy from other boaters.

There could be some improvements, like making the drain plug removable from the inside so you can drain the water out when on a plane, and the West Marine sticker needs to be made out a better material which doesn't go gummy in the sun, but these are minor. This is our third dinghy, and it is the best so far.

      Pretty Nice

      Pros

      • Easy to inflate
      • Good valves
      • Nice size

      Cons

      • Compartment Leaks
      • Floor Not Solid Enough

      Best Uses

Comments about West Marine RIB-350 Double Floor Hypalon Inflatable Boat—White:

We bought this dinghy a few weeks ago in Aug 20013. I did not like the AL390 and returned it (it was too big), this RIB 350 is better for us. The solid floor is nice compared with the wood floor dinghy we had before. The RIB350 is made in China. There is no place to stow the paddles down below, they must remain stored up in place on the tubes. The front compartment leaks when it rains so the design of the lid is poor. We only have a 2HP motor so I can't comment on plaining. It rows really nicely as you are up high and the seat is in the right place. It has four lifting points for hoisting it up, two on the inside front and two outside on the transom at the back. I like the flat floor, however, under my 200 pound weight I can hear the fibreglass cracking slightly, so I wonder if the floor will hold up, it needs to be a bit more solid.
