Problem: How could we possibly improve on our wildly popular Saba 9.5 Kayak?
Solution: Add another seat (actually two, but we'll get to that shortly)!
The Saba 14.0 Tandem Sit-Inside Kayak makes sense for a variety of situations. Your significant other isn't as strong of a paddler as you are, but you'd like to paddle together. You want to get across the water in a hurry (two paddlers in a long kayak are faster than one). It is generally less expensive than two solo kayaks. One kayak takes up less storage space than two. Oh, and that extra seat we mentioned...the Saba 14.0 includes a removable child seat so you can even bring a kiddo along and make it a family affair. You can even paddle it solo if you want an extra long kayak with lots of storage space for long-distance touring.
Extremely stable and maneuverable, the Saba 14.0 is designed for recreational paddling on all types of flat water—bays, lakes, ponds and rivers with slow-moving current—with ample storage for a full day's adventure. The low center of gravity you'll experience paddling a sit-inside kayak makes it easier to paddle, plus you are more sheltered from cold water. Add an optional spray skirt (sold separately) for even more protection.
The roto-molded polyethylene hull on the Saba 14.0 is flexible and impact resistant so it will take the rougher usage that most recreational kayaks endure. Dual tracking/stiffening channels have been added to the bottom for more responsive handling.
A roomy cockpit makes it easy to enter and exit. You'll find several details that make this kayak comfortable for most paddlers. Adjustable foot braces allow each of you to customize the cockpit for the length of your legs and give you the ability to adjust your leg position throughout the day. The main seats each include a high-back, adjustable, padded back support and padded bottom. Built-in cup/bottle holders are integrated into the seats as well.
The deluxe bow and stern rigging give you places to stow items like dry bags (sold separately), jackets and other essentials within easy reach. Bow and stern handles not only help with carrying, they also provide handy tie-off points when you want to get out and explore a remote island, break for lunch at a sand bar or dock with other kayaks or boats. You'll also find static perimeter lines and a stern bulkhead that forms a semi-dry storage compartment that's accessible through a rubber hatch cover.
If you don't already own them or it's time to replace the ones you have, remember to order kayak paddles and life jackets (all sold separately) so you'll be ready to splash your kayak as soon as possible!
