sharp. I once cut a coke can to use it to help bail the forward bilge, and it cut the aluminum can like a piece of paper. I was quite impressed. also great for rigging, but I mostly carry it with me for emergency purpose, esp during a race. it is more resistant to rust than my other more expensive knife. the only one thing I could pick on is that it's got this hole on the blade for chores like fishing line cutting. intuitively, it seems like a good place to stick your fingers onto for pulling the knife out, but that hole's got a sharp blade - not a good idea...

I bought one of these some time back. I like the knife, but the clip came off after several months. Took it back to West and they gave me a new knife, no questions asked. Same thing has happened again.

As a sailing instructor, competitive racer, and more I am constantly carry a sailing knife. And for the most part it has been on of these knifes. I have had them for years and still look great, they have outlasted knifes that cost well over a hundred dollars. Good size, easy to open, built well, cuts well, and most importantly cheap!! You wont be sorry

Comments about Stainless Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

One of the best values I've found in memory, ie.quality/price, especially when on sale. Carry one daily aboard tugs on SF Bay. Incredible edge. Will cut through 3" diameter line. Only knock, the thumb hole for opening too small. Added electrical tape through hole to give better purchase. A zip tie pulled tight and cut off would serve as well.

Ive use this knife for a lot of things on the Ohio river I swear by this thing I keep it on me at all times when on tow or making a lock it has got me out of a lot of bad situations when lines have fouled I would love if the price was lower but I'll continue to buy them even though the handle broke off my last one

Comments about Stainless Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

At first I was disappointed that this knife had the exact same handle as the one I got at a fishing store for less than a third of the price. Why did I pay so much for the same knife? I noticed, however, that the blade is different. This is made of 440C stainless steel, which is a higher quality blade. It's very sharp and does what I need it to do. I use it to shorten line on my sailboat, and also as a general purpose knife. Since it doesn't have a fancy handle and big price tag, I don't mind keeping it with me at all times. So I end up using it all the time, which only makes me appreciate it more.

Snagged a thick line tightly around the prop and this tool easily cut through to err the prop.

                          I carry this knife everyday.
For me it is a utility knife
After three years of heavy use.It is still as sharp as when i got it.
This knife is very sharp and stays sharp.
                          I cut boxes,open paint cans,cut wire,rope,shrink wrap,tin.I have even
used it as a small saw.
The curved end makes for an excellent screw driver.
The 440 stainless serrated blade makes for a great picnicking knife. For oranges, bread cheese etc.It wipes clean ,no pitting.
The 3" blade makes it legal to carry all the time with out worry.
All together it is the best knife I have ever owned.
If I ever lose it I will replace it.

the knife will be used on the sailboat (ocean) as well as fresh water fishing. This is my second purchase; the first knife is still in great condition dispite misuse. The second was on sale and I couldn't turn a turn down a great Christmas gift for my mate.
