I've reviewed this before, now I've had it another year. After using a dremel to cut off the "safety" part on the end of the blade, this knife becomes the best bait knife you'll ever own, IMHO. Stays sharp, doesn't rust and folds to go in your pocket. Also, VERY affordable when bought on sale ([$]). If you ever need to sharpen it, just file the back side of the blade (the side without serrations) a little and it is sharp as new. 5 stars, for sure!!!

Comments about West Marine Stainless-Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

I carry this knife with me 24/7, I have used it to extract two different individuals from overturned car wrecks.
If kept sharp with a few strokes on a round ceramic sharpener, it will cut nylon line, seat belts, cardboard,
    your lunch, etc.

I keep it on my belt in a nylon belt pouch. I never leave home with out it.

Comments about West Marine Stainless-Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

This is a great knife to have "ON YOU" or "ATTACHED TO YOU" when boating. No one plans to be overboard or in an emergency situation when going boating but IT DOES HAPPEN!!!! Make sure you have one of these with you, it may just save your life someday.

Comments about West Marine Stainless-Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

I bought one of these some time back. I like the knife, but the clip came off after several months. Took it back to West and they gave me a new knife, no questions asked. Same thing has happened again.

Comments about West Marine Stainless-Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

As a sailing instructor, competitive racer, and more I am constantly carry a sailing knife. And for the most part it has been on of these knifes. I have had them for years and still look great, they have outlasted knifes that cost well over a hundred dollars. Good size, easy to open, built well, cuts well, and most importantly cheap!! You wont be sorry

Comments about West Marine Stainless-Steel Serrated Rigging Knife:

One of the best values I've found in memory, ie.quality/price, especially when on sale. Carry one daily aboard tugs on SF Bay. Incredible edge. Will cut through 3" diameter line. Only knock, the thumb hole for opening too small. Added electrical tape through hole to give better purchase. A zip tie pulled tight and cut off would serve as well.

At first I was disappointed that this knife had the exact same handle as the one I got at a fishing store for less than a third of the price. Why did I pay so much for the same knife? I noticed, however, that the blade is different. This is made of 440C stainless steel, which is a higher quality blade. It's very sharp and does what I need it to do. I use it to shorten line on my sailboat, and also as a general purpose knife. Since it doesn't have a fancy handle and big price tag, I don't mind keeping it with me at all times. So I end up using it all the time, which only makes me appreciate it more.

                            I carry this knife everyday.
For me it is a utility knife
After three years of heavy use.It is still as sharp as when i got it.
This knife is very sharp and stays sharp.
                            I cut boxes,open paint cans,cut wire,rope,shrink wrap,tin.I have even
used it as a small saw.
The curved end makes for an excellent screw driver.
The 440 stainless serrated blade makes for a great picnicking knife. For oranges, bread cheese etc.It wipes clean ,no pitting.
The 3" blade makes it legal to carry all the time with out worry.
All together it is the best knife I have ever owned.
If I ever lose it I will replace it.
