On the bottom of Puget Sound

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

Was fishing from my jetski and had the radio clipped to my PFD. The radio came off, fell into the water, and sank to the bottom of Puget Sound. I purchased the 2 yr product protection plan. When I went to the store, the manager told me that he had to have a carcass to send in and I could not get a new one. Don't spend the money on this radio because it doesn't float and don't buy the extra plan, it is a waste of money.

        • Kayak fishing

I use this while Kayak fishing, not sure if my unit is possessed or not. I charged it one time and it has been on 7 trips full blast xmitting/rec reports and Coast Guard traffic. Has not lost a bar of battery.

I am amazed. Was just buying this as a radio for a fishing tournament. Now it is my go to device if there is any trouble on the water.

bought this as a backup for my mounted VHF on 17ft Sea Pro cc. Took out to Edisto Island, SC mid June and it worked just fine. Also radio tested on Lake Murray and got good reception miles out. Miss the rotary vol and squelch knobs but still very easy to use. Weather reports come in loud and clear.
