Bought this from W. M. ad had it shipped to house. I opened box put in battery, charged it, put back in box for 5 months, forgot to remove battery as inst said to do. Pulled it out, took on boat, it still showed full charge, worked great. I' m impressed.
I use this while Kayak fishing, not sure if my unit is possessed or not. I charged it one time and it has been on 7 trips full blast xmitting/rec reports and Coast Guard traffic. Has not lost a bar of battery.
I am amazed. Was just buying this as a radio for a fishing tournament. Now it is my go to device if there is any trouble on the water.
bought this as a backup for my mounted VHF on 17ft Sea Pro cc. Took out to Edisto Island, SC mid June and it worked just fine. Also radio tested on Lake Murray and got good reception miles out. Miss the rotary vol and squelch knobs but still very easy to use. Weather reports come in loud and clear.
