#105 Epoxy Resin
A clear, low-viscosity, liquid epoxy resin, formulated for use with any one of four WEST SYSTEM hardeners. Cures in a wide temperature range to form a high-strength solid with excellent moisture resistance. When mixed at the proper ratio with WEST SYSTEM 205 Fast Hardener, 206 Slow Hardener, 207 Special Clear or 209 Extra Slow Hardeners, it is an excellent adhesive. It is designed specifically to wet out and bond to wood fiber, fiberglass, reinforcing fabrics, foam or other composite materials, and a variety of metals. 105 Resin-based epoxy will bridge gaps and fill voids when modified with WEST SYSTEM Fillers, and can be sanded and shaped when cured. With roller applications, it has excellent thin film characteristics, allowing it to flow out and self-level without fish-eyeing. Multiple coats of a 105-based epoxy create a superior moisture barrier and a tough, stable base for paints and varnishes. 105 Resin is formulated without volatile solvents and does not shrink after curing. It has a relatively high flash point and no strong solvent odor, making it safer to work with than polyester or vinylester resins. Resin viscosity is approximately 1000 centipoise at 72F (22C).
- 105-A size Resin should be paired with an A-size container of 205, 206, 207 or 209 Hardener.
- 105-B size Resin should be paired with a B-size container of 205, 206, 207 or 209 Hardener.
- 105-C size Resin should be paired with a C-size container of 205, 206, 207 or 209 Hardener.
- 105-E size Resin should be paired with an E-size container of 205, 206, 207 or 209 Hardener.
It is strongly recommended to use WEST SYSTEM dispenser pumps with these products.
