    Comments about #403 Microfibers:

I bought this stuff as it had a similar name as the MAS product that I used in the past. MAS was "milled fiber" West is "Micro fiber"...very close, but vastly different. The west system 403, while does thicken the resin into all kinds of consistencies, it has always left the results very rough and clumpy looking, think cottage cheese.

I must not be using the product for its intended purpose, I use it to fill gaps and make fillets.

The interesting thing too, is that the cured results is not extremely hard, and is flexible..you can scrape it off with a finger nail. I have been fixing that issue with applying a second coat of pure resin after the cottage cheese is "cured". That seems to do the trick.

I will be either going back to MAS Milled Fibers or WEST's cabo-sil.

Please , anyone, if I am not using this product correctly, feel free to respond with proper instructions...I'm wiling to learn from my mistakes.

      Comments about #403 Microfibers:

We are in the process of restoring a 1976 Venture 25. To trim out the interior we laminated PVC to the interior hull, insulated between the 1"x2" PCV strips with foam and attached the paneling to the PVC. Lesson learned "Make sure you clamp your parts well"
