Four-Stroke Oil for Marine Use
Four-stroke oil, also called four-cycle oil for marine engines is formulated to protect engines that operate in a hostile, salty, wet environment. Typically these oils are called heavy-duty oils and are formulated with different additives. Most are suitable for inboard diesels and gasoline engines. West Marine branded oils include Premium 4-Stroke Oil designed for gas and diesel inboards and comes as single-weight and multi-viscosity oil. Multi-viscosity oils include 10w30 and 10w40 4-stroke boat engine oils. 4-stroke outboard oil includes special additives to meet the lubrication challenges of modern 4-cycle outboards and includes multi-viscosity options. West Marine also offers 4-cycle oils from Chevron (Delo 400), Pennzoil and Quicksilver. Container sizes include pints, quarts, gallons, 2.5 gallon and 5-gallon sizes.
