Robert George

Robert joined the West Marine crew in August of 2021. He is a multi-channel retail executive with over 25 years of experience working in Fortune 500 retailers specializing in strategic planning, merchandising, marketing, store operations, global sourcing, and supply chain.

Before joining West Marine, Robert served in senior leadership positions at Staples and Family Dollar. Robert spent a total of 19 years at Staples growing the company from a single store to a $16 billion multi-national organization with 1,600 stores, before moving to Family Dollar to lead the merchandising organization. In his role at West Marine, Robert will lead merchandising operations, which includes price management, visual merchandising, assortment planning, and item data management.

Before relocating to Florida, Robert spent time boating and fishing on Lake Sunapee, NH. Now he spends as much of his free time as possible enjoying the South Florida ocean, fishing for sailfish, mahi-mahi, and wahoo.
