10'6" Evolution Stand-Up Paddleboard

A smaller shape that paddles great!

The 10’6 Evolution™ is the sportiest of the series, creating a great paddling board in flat water but also a very spirited surfer. Aquaglide had one mandate in creating the new Evolution™ series, separate these SUP’s from the cookie-cutter boards offered by every other company. To do this, we went back to the basics of shaping with legendary shaper, Brian Hinde. Hand-shaped, fine-tuned, and attention to detail— this is the last board you’ll ever need. While maintaining excellent stability, the 10’6” glides through the waterbetter than most all of this size, maximizing your paddling experience.

Construction:

All Evolution™boards are hand laid epoxy/fiberglass vacuum bag construction. These have been meticulously designed by Brian Hinde with years of experience in windsurf and surfboard composite construction. Between the multiple layered  fiberglass layup a bamboo-wood sheet is added on both the deck and bottom creating a sandwich construction for extra durability over the custom shaped EPS foam core. Rails have 5 layers of overlapped fiberglass to double the strength where impact from the paddle commonly occurs.    

        

Deck:

The comfortable traction pad will put your feet at ease and not asleep. The grooved pad also provides more than enough traction that you won’t question where your feet are at. The forward deck has four point attachment with bungie cord that allow you to stow a dry bag with water and extra gear for your longer outings. Rear deck plug to attach a leash, keeping your board in close reach in case it wants to go faster than you did.

Venting and Handle:

The vent and handle are separate keeping any problems to a minimum. The waterproof vent is breathable and doesn’t require you to remove it or tighten it. Just let it take care of business in heat or elevation gain. This eliminates that chance of forgetting to tighten or loosen it before or after use.

Volume:

The amount of volume combined with the dimensions of the board can help determine it’s stability and capacity. This board has a 188 liter volume that will comfortably paddle up to 200 lbs. and performance surf up to 220 lbs.

Shape:

Designed with the intention of a better glide in mind, there are chines located on both the bottom and top of the board. Even being our shortest 10’6" length it has a surprising glide along with the 31” width that provides a great amount of stability. Buy it for short - moderate distance paddling and you’ll still love it when you decide to take it paddling just a little longer than normal. We are excited to get back to the roots, showcasing the experience of paddling and forgoing flashy graphics. This approach rekindles the passion and innovation of the days before cosmetic enhancements surpassed shaping for performance.

Rocker:

The Evolution™ narrow nose has nice rocker and a planning hull surface allowing it to carve the swell without pushing to much water yet still riding above surface without the submarining effect. This 10'6" board has gradual rocker from nose to tail making it more playful and easier to turn.
