It's easy to see why this SUP is Boardworks' most popular model!

Although the graphics and bamboo inlay ARE striking, there are a few more reasons why you should consider adding the Raven to your fleet. It's stable without sacrificing glide. It's an excellent all-around board. It handles a lot of water conditions. And did we mention it's stunning to look at as well? The Raven is designed for both flat and choppy water in lakes, bays, harbors, docile rivers and even the open ocean. You should also expect to hear, "Nice board!" shouted quite often due to its head-turning looks (or so we've been told).

TEC-V Construction

Boardworks utilizes Thermal Epoxy Compression-Veneer (TEC-V) technology, where both heat and pressure are applied, coupled with fine materials and epoxy resins, to produce a molded sandwich stand-up paddleboard that is light, tight and very durable. The Raven starts with a precision-shaped, low-density, stringerless EPS core that is CAD designed, machine cut and hand finished. This core is then laminated with premium kiln-dried bamboo veneer, layers of fiberglass cloth and fine epoxy resins. The construction process results in a board with an amazing strength-to-weight ratio. All components, fin boxes, finger-wells, leash and deck plugs are set in high-density foam blocks. It's then finished off with unique northwest Native American-inspired graphics.

Deck

The Raven's recessed deck gives you a lower center of gravity for more efficient and stable paddling. A soft, diamond groove deck pad offers a comfortable nonslip surface for maximum grip and control with plenty of space to change positions based on paddling style and conditions. The LiftSUP™ handle allows for easy portage down to the water and provides a locking point so you can secure your board when you aren't actually on it (which hopefully is most of the time). A self-regulating vent plug relieves internal pressure in heat or high altitude. You'll also find a tiedown bungee system up front for attaching gear and a plug at the tail for attaching a leash (sold separately) so you and your board will stay connected.

Volume

When deciding on an SUP, you'll want to choose a board with adequate volume. This can be the difference between gliding smoothly across the surface or spending your time fighting that very real sinking feeling! Proper volume is influenced by two key variables: rider weight and skill level. With a volume of 290 liters, the recommended rider weight limit for the Raven is 250 pounds for beginners or novices. Experienced paddlers may find they can even exceed this recommended weight limit with a capacity up to 300 pounds!

Shape

The hull is designed to provide incredible stability without sacrificing the glide you need for touring, fitness paddling and recreational racing. The Raven's pointed nose and narrow tail ensure it moves through wind-driven chop and changes direction quickly.

Fins

A single center touring fin is provided to enhance tracking during long distance paddling. Its forward placement makes for greater maneuverability and easy tail turning.

If you don't already own them, remember to order an SUP paddle and a life jacket (both sold separately) so you'll be out on the water quickly!
