Axial Fans
Designed to act as supply or exhaust fans onboard boats, axial fans are permanent installations that help draw air in or out of enclosed spaces on boats. They are often used to ventilate engine rooms on small boats to reduce the chance of an explosion. They are compact and have a sealed, ignition protected motor which makes them suitable for installation where explosive vapors might be present.
Cabin Fans
A cabin fan can keep you cool on windless days and help you avoid needing an air conditioner in some climates. 12-, 24- and 120-volt fan options exist, allowing for greater versatility across a range of boats. When shopping, take note of the fan’s capacity, which is rated in cubic feet per minute, and buy a fan with the capacity you need. Cabin fan blades are plastic or composite and are designed to hold up well in humid or damp conditions. Some models include safety mechanisms that stop the rotation of the fan if the blade gets caught on something, which provides extra peace of mind. Features to look for include multiple speeds and an adjustable bracket. Many DC models feature soft vinyl “finger safe” blades that minimize the risk of injury if touched.
Steel Fan Guards
Centek, makers of the 120 volt axial fans we offer, offers fan guards for fans ranging from 11 to 36 inches. These fan guards are made of steel dipped in black plastic to protect against corrosion when exposed to the elements. They also serve to keep foreign objects (read fingers) out of the path of the blades.
Replacement Fan Blades
If your cabin fan blades need replacing, it is an easy task to tackle. Simply match the model number of your fan to the blades and follow the installation instructions to be cool as a cucumber again.
