Versitile primer for all Interlux topside finishes.

Epoxy Primakote is a two-part epoxy based primer formulated to provide a solid base for Interlux two-part polyurethane topside paint systems, but it can also be used with Interlux single part polyurethanes and enamels. Ideal as a primer for Perfection® Polyurethane, Epoxy Primakote® sands easily and adheres well to gelcoat, fiberglass, wood, steel and clean epoxy. When applied to clear epoxies, this primer can eliminate the adverse effects of amine blush. The bright white matte finish works well to prime lockers and bilge areas. Sold in one quart and one gallon kits to match the needs of different projects. Start your Interlux paint project with a solid base by using Epoxy Primakote primer.

Application

  • Recommended Usage:  primer for Perfection® two-part polyurethane, Brightsides polyurethane (single part), Premium Yacht Enamel, and surfacer for cracked/crazed gelcoat
  • Formulation:Multi-purpose two-part epoxy primer
  • Drying Time:To touch: 1 to 3 hrs.; To overcoat: 6 to 12 hrs.
  • Number of Coats Recommended:Above waterline:1 or 2 coats; Below waterline: 5 or 6 coats
  • Thinner:Brush: 2333N - Model 198606; Spray: 2316N - Model 198598
  • Coverage: Brush: 112sq.ft/qt, 450sq.ft/gal; Spray: 93sq.ft/qt, 375sq.ft/gal.
