Feels Like Down
PlumaFill is a revolutionary, featherlight polyester down alternative that replicates the structure of down. This continuous synthetic insulation uses a central fiber surrounded by fluffy microfilaments that not only feels like down, it traps heat like down. Even better—unlike down—it still traps your heat if it gets wet and never shifts or clumps. That means no cold spots for the life of the jacket. It's not only resilient, but it retains its loft retention after washing. Plus, it's extremely packable. (More on that below.)
Resists Wind & Water
The Micro Puff Jacket features a tightly woven fabric (10-denier) shell and lining of ultralight (0.7oz.) nylon ripstop Pertex Quantum® GL. This silky-smooth fabric is water-resistant, windproof and allows the insulation to fully loft and trap still air thereby improving the efficiency of the insulation. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish is applied to shed light rain and snow and decrease drying time, yet still allow the fabric to breathe for exceptional comfort as your activity, and thus your body heat, increases.
Complementary Construction
The innovative quilting that gives the Micro Puff Jacket its unique look also helps stabilize and maximize the loft of the PlumaFill insulation strands. Using minimal stitching also helps reduce the overall weight of the jacket and cuts the potential for cold spots with larger lofted areas.
Perfect Packing
With the ability to pack compactly into its own pocket like a sleeping bag in a stuffsack, you'll discover just how handy this jacket can become the next time Mother Nature throws you a curveball. There's even a reinforced carabiner clip-in loop in the pocket that lets you keep it clipped to the outside of your backpack for quick deployment.
