Hydrocoat Antifouling Paint
Complete Your Purchase
Hydrocoat’s environmentally-friendly, water-based formula offers exceptional protection against all types of marine fouling organisms.
Hydrocoat is a water-based ablative antifouling paint that delivers powerful protection without the harsh solvents and heavy fumes typically found in traditional bottom paints. Its eco-friendly formula makes application and cleanup simple while meeting and exceeding the toughest VOC standards, making it safer for both the environment and the applicator. Designed to wear away smoothly with use, Hydrocoat continuously exposes fresh biocides to effectively prevent marine growth while minimizing paint buildup and reducing the need for sanding when it’s time for a new coat. Built for performance and convenience, it withstands frequent trailering, launching, and beaching while offering the flexibility of unlimited dry time before launch. This allows you to paint at your convenience in the fall and launch the following spring with confidence.

Another way to determine bottom paint quantity is to estimate the approximate surface area of the hull below the waterline, using the following formula:
Length x Beam x .75 = Approximate underwater surface area in square feet.
Each paint has a “theoretical coverage” area, but most paints require at least two coats, so you can expect actual coverage to be no greater than half of the theoretical value.
