Trusted sine wave inverter with added features for easier use and installation
The improved Freedom Xi adds quick connect terminals, an ignition lockout and more control of the low voltage shut down. Based on a proven design, Xantrex makes this compact sine wave inverter easier to use and easier to install.
Quick connect AC terminals give installers hardwiring the inverter into a system more freedom by eliminating the need for cable strain relief and time consuming terminal crimping—wiring is connected directly into the terminal block. An integrated 120V GFCI is available for use if inverter isn’t hardwired into an AC system.
An ignition lock-out feature links the inverter to the ignition key. In the OFF position the inverter is shut down to prevent battery drain.
Pure sine wave inverters provide AC power that is compatible all AC loads including sensitive electronics and appliances with microprocessors. This form of converted power has low harmonic distortion and matches grid power to allow appliances and equipment to function as it was designed: preventing damage and shortened service life.
An automatic transfer switch is built in to transfer AC loads to shore power when AC current is detected. This prevents unnecessary discharge of the batteries when a more abundant power source is available.
Detachable display panel can be installed remotely using the included 25' cable. This adds the convenience of control and system monitoring without having to crawl into a locker or engine compartment.
Built in safety features protect the batteries and the inverter from unwanted damage. The programmable low-voltage feature allows boaters to select the voltage at which the system shuts down to prevent discharging the batteries to dangerous levels. This can be tailored to closely match the parameters set by battery manufacturers. Over-voltage protection keeps the inverter operating within its capacity even when demand increases. An over-temperature shutdown and overload protection prevent unwanted damage to the inverter in the events of power surges or use in extreme temperatures. AC loads have short circuit protection and features ground-fault protection.
1000W capacity will handle small to moderate AC demands. Boaters will enjoy the use of small microwaves (800W and under), appliances, electronics and power tools, but will have to use caution not use too many load simultaneously.
