ACCO Hot-Dip Galvanized BBB Chain

Bulk Chain

Acco chain is hot dip galvanized, which is superior to the zinc electroplating used by most other U.S. chain vendors. When comparing Acco chain to other brands, be sure to ask if other brands are “hot dip.” Remember that the Maximum Working Load (MWL) is a conservative rating for safety and should not be exceeded, although the breaking strength is generally 3–4 times greater. We sell Acco chain by the foot in lengths up to the size of the standard pack. BBB is made of low-carbon steel, but has calibrated links (shorter than the links of Proof Coil chain) that are compatible with many windlasses. Unless indicated otherwise, BBB chain offered herein are manufactured to I.S.O. specifications. Made in USA. Sold by the foot. We will contact you if chain quantity purchased requires truck freight at additional shipping charge.

Comments about Acco 5/16" Bbb Chain, 1900lb. Swl, 7600lb. Breaking Strength, 1.2lb./ft.:

In December 2011 I purchased 200' of BBB 5/16, galvanized chain made by Acco, 4 months later my chain was rusted. I got a replacement and now my new chain is rusting event more than the first one. I got a second replacement. It steel in the delivery barrel it looks like electro plated not hot deep galvanized. I know it will rust again. Save yourself a lot of trouble don't buy Acco chain.

Comments about Acco 5/16" Bbb Chain, 1900lb. Swl, 7600lb. Breaking Strength, 1.2lb./ft.:

I bought ACCO chain because it is American made and supposedly better than the cheaper foreign-made chain, but was a bit surprised to see that on the end links it looked like the galvanizing had been scraped through and I could see bare steel. I am replacing rusty 26 year old chain and don't know how long this chain will last given that the galvanizing seems quite thin, despite the fact that this is supposed to be hot-dipped chain.
Guess I'll watch it carefully and see.
Wish I had known that you can have chain re-galvanized for less than a dollar a pound before my old chain eroded past the point where I could have that done!
