Acco chain is hot dip galvanized, which is superior to the zinc electroplating used by most other U.S. chain vendors. When comparing Acco chain to other brands, be sure to ask if other brands are “hot dip.” Remember that the Maximum Working Load (MWL) is a conservative rating for safety and should not be exceeded, although the breaking strength is generally 3–4 times greater. We sell Acco chain by the foot in lengths up to the size of the standard pack (see chart, below).
Proof Coil chain is made of low-carbon steel and designed for ordinary marine applications, but not for use in most windlasses due to its long links. BBB is also made of low-carbon steel, but has shorter, calibrated links that are compatible with many windlasses.
Proof Coil offered herein is manufactured to I.S.O. specifications, except for the 3/16" size, which is manufactured to NACM specifications. Link length is longer than I.S.O. Made in USA.
