Comments about a78 Multi Function Display with CHIRP & a78/RD418D Value Pack:
I bought this combo as part of initial outfitting of our 41' boat. I was impressed with both the (perceived) value and product features listed. What is not noted anywhere is the a78 display is an early, discontinued model that has no WiFi capability. Worse, if you search Raymarine website, all a78's now listed show WiFi as standard so unless someone at store alerts you, the buyer has no way of knowing until unpacking the unit and searching the model number (E70202) against the Raymarine website. So far WestMarine says it's Raymarine issue, Raymarine says it's WestMarine issue. If WiFi connectivity is not an issue, this is a non-issue. Also note, the included transducer is a transom mount and totally useless on an inboard powered vessel.
