Poorly designed for installation

Comments about 120V Marine Water Heater with Heat Exchanger, 11 Gallon, Front/Rear Mounts:

Poorly designed, most likely by someone who never installed or built anything. Numerous connections in front foul each other. Inlet heater hose from engine (thickwall hose) fouls drain valve, so that hose needs to be removed (thus draining tank) to open drain. Go figure. Right-angle fittings will not install directly to connectors; they will not spin on account of fouling other features. Mounting ears too narrow to allow your hand to slide back along bulkhead to access bolts (I bolted them upside-down, from below-- not fun). Wiring connections are directly under water connections-- a leak will fry fuses or breakers. Wiring pigtails as supplied are of different configurations-- you need to make your own. Whichever orientation you choose, make sure you have plenty of room all around (which few sailboats will provide).

What looked like a tidy, compact package was deceptively bad from the start. A respectable brand like Kuuma should know better; WM should have these products evaluated by qualified industry pros rather than by vendors' marketing people. I build Cherubini 44s (best boat in the world) for a living and won't spec in this product again.

Appears to be a high quality product. Owner's/installation manual very well illustrated and written - easy to follow.
