Convenient assorted pack of fine grit Wetordry™ sandpaper which contains 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 grit. Designed for hand sanding, each 3 2/3" x 9" sheet can be easily attached to and used on a sanding block.
During Stage 4 of the 3M Body Repair System use 1000 grit sandpaper to scuff the blend area prior to applying base coat paint. Scuffing the blend area is the light sanding process on the old, existing clear coat needed for the newly applied base coat paint to stick. The blend area is the area around the dent or repair area that transitions from bare metal to primer, to the old base coat, to the old clear coat.
Use 1500 grit sandpaper to level out orange peel and remove dust nibs in the clear coat. Use 2000 and 2500 grit sandpaper to level out orange peel and refine 1500 grit scratches. Follow this step with 3000 and 5000 grit sandpaper and finish with rubbing compound, polish and wax.
