The Ancor Coax Bulkhead/Deck Feed Through (200250) is a purpose-built marine connector fitting that allows coaxial cable to pass cleanly through a boat's bulkhead or deck while maintaining a secure, weatherproof connection. Designed to accept standard PL-259 connectors, this fitting is a trusted solution for routing VHF antenna cables and other coaxial signal lines aboard a vessel.
Installation is straightforward: drill a hole in the bulkhead or deck, feed the coax through, and secure the fitting with the included nut. When using Ancor twist-on connectors, strip the cable to expose 9/16 inch of the center conductor and 1/4 inch of the outer braid, ensuring the braided shield does not contact the inner conductor. Insert the cable into the connector until the center conductor protrudes, then twist the knurled end while gently pushing the connector onto the cable until you feel resistance. Crimp or solder the center conductor and trim any excess.
For exterior-facing installations, it is strongly recommended to install a piece of Ancor 3/4-inch heat shrink tubing over all exterior UHF connectors. This step waterproofs the connection and provides important strain relief, extending the life of the installation in harsh marine environments.
