Adhesive lined heat shrink butt connectors can be used as a step-down from one gauge size to another or as a multi-wire connector for one gauge size wire. These connectors offer a sealed alternative to products such as a quick-tap or 3-way connector in areas where corrosion is a concern.

Tech Tip: Why Heat Shrink Terminals?
Heat shrink terminals create a sealed connection between the terminal itself and the wire the connector is crimped to. Sealed connections prevent corrosion and provide additional strain relief for the connection. Corrosion reduces the carrying capacity of the electrical system and reduces the strength of the conductor. Over time, wire that is not sealed can degrade and break, leading to costly repairs.
