You'll find this recreational/touring kayak paddle balances performance, comfort and style.
With its rugged, yet lightweight fiberglass shaft that doesn't get cold in your hands like an aluminum one, the Bending Branches Sunrise Glass Kayak Paddle is an ideal upgrade from the entry-level paddle that might have come with your kayak. The polypropylene blades pull through the water smoothly with a dihedral that's built down the middle of the blades for even water displacement that will eliminate that fluttering you feel with lower quality blades. The shaft is ovalized rather than round and has grooves where you grip it so your hands won't slide if they get wet and and gives you additional comfort on day-long paddles.
The snug-fitting, two-piece, three-hole, snap-button ferrule (quite a mouthful) is adjustable for feathering angles of 0° and 60°, left or right. If you're paddling into high winds, a higher feather angle will result in less wind resistance on your blades. Conversely, if you're paddling with the wind at your back, an un-feathered (or 0°) angle will cause your blades to act like sails each time you lift them out of the water on your stroke. The high-visibility color of the blades will provide an extra margin of safety since you'll be more easily see out on the water. Drip rings are included to stop water from running down the shaft making it slippery to hold and to divert water from entering your boat. 35oz. Made in the USA.
