Hull Design

Made by fusing together three layers of Poly-XR™ with advanced resin in the top layer, this material is 30% more rigid than standard polyethylene. It also uses less material in the manufacturing process, making it lighter to transport and glide on water and stiffer so it's easier to paddle and turn. A removable (and replaceable) keel extension enhances tracking and acts as a skid plate.

Comfort

The roomy cockpit on the Sound 100 XE makes it easy to get in and out of with lots of leg room for adjusting your leg position throughout the day. You'll find the Ergoflex Seating System™ has your ultimate comfort in mind with an adjustable backrest that includes a perforated foam panel that allows air to circulate so you'll stay cooler during extended paddling. The EVA padded seat bottom is grooved to trail off water or sweat and assist in eliminating hot spots. It will support your body comfortably on your voyage. Sides are padded where your thighs or knees rest. Adjustable foot rests allow for paddler height switches or leg stretching and shifting.

Storage

A handy cockpit table with a 4" day hatch and bottle holder keep small items within arm's reach for easy access. Larger items that need to be safe from water can be secured in the stern bulkhead featuring a Quick Lock hatch. A quarter turn of the two latches will open it or secure it. Other belongings can be tucked under the elastic bungee cords on the bow and stern decks.

More Built-In Features

There are ergonomic carry handles at either end which work great not only for carrying, but also tying off when stopping for lunch at the beach or helping secure your kayak to your car top. You'll also find a paddle tiedown that holds your paddle while you snap a pic or take off a layer as the day gets hotter. Includes a two-year limited extended warranty.
