FATSAC Air Release Plug (W749)
The FATSAC Air Release Plug (W749) is an essential ballast fitting for wakeboarders and wakesurfers who want to maximize water capacity in their ballast bags. When filling a ballast sac, air can become trapped at the top of the bag, reducing the effective water weight and therefore the size and shape of the wake. This plug provides a simple, controlled solution: loosen it slightly during filling to allow trapped air to escape, then tighten it back down once the air has been purged and water flows freely from the fitting.
The W749 is a direct replacement for the standard ballast plug found on Fly High Pro X Series Ballast Sacs and is included as standard equipment on all stock FatSac ballast bags. It works with both automatic plug-and-play fill systems and manual over-side pumps. Unlike fully removing the plug to vent air, the W749 lets you control the release precisely — loosen a few turns, watch for air bubbles, and retighten before significant water loss occurs.
