FGCI 1815 Stitchmat Fiberglass Roll

The 1815 Stitchmat is a high-performance fiberglass reinforcement designed for applications that require a strong combination of strength, flexibility, and easy handling. Its stitch-bound construction allows the material to bend and conform more easily than chemically bound fabmat, making it an excellent choice for fiberglass layups involving curves, contours, and complex shapes. Each 1815 Stitchmat combines 18 oz. woven roving per square yard with 1.5 oz. mat per square foot, providing reliable reinforcement and excellent laminate performance.

Key Features

  • Flexible Stitch-Bound Construction – Easily bends and conforms to complex shapes, helping simplify layup and installation.
  • High Strength Reinforcement – Combines woven roving and mat for durable, well-reinforced fiberglass laminates.
  • Easy to Handle – Designed for efficient handling and placement during fiberglass layups.
  • Excellent Conformability – Ideal for curved

Application Method Applicator
Best Use Boat and marine repair/building — hulls, decks, stringers, transoms, and other structural fiberglass work. Automotive and vehicle composites — body panels, tubs, enclosures, and structural components. Molds and tooling — particularly where the reinforcement needs to conform around curves and corners. Large fiberglass parts — the 50" width makes it efficient for covering larger areas with fewer seams. Structural reinforcement — useful when you need more reinforcement than mat alone can provide.

Recommended Usage The big advantage is the stitch-bound construction. It holds the woven roving and mat together while still allowing the material to flex and conform. That makes it particularly attractive for hand layup and other fiberglass fabrication processes where getting the reinforcement to follow the shape of the part is important.
