FIBERGLASS COATINGS Fiberglass Reinforced Polyurethane, 25 lb Density, 3/4" thick x 48" x 96"

Kay-Cel is a rigid, closed-cell, high-density polyurethane foam core panel engineered for demanding structural marine applications. The panel uses a sandwich construction method, with 18 oz Woven Roving fiberglass reinforcement laminated on both sides of the polyurethane foam core, significantly boosting its mechanical properties compared to unreinforced foam. At 3/4" thick and a full sheet size of 48" x 96", it is ideal for transoms, bulkheads, and other structural projects where strength, moisture resistance, and light weight are essential.

The panel features a 25 lb density foam core and is sold as a plain (unscored) sheet, ready for custom fabrication. It bonds well to both polyester and epoxy resin systems, making it compatible with standard fiberglass lamination processes. At approximately 30% lighter than marine plywood, Kay-Cel reduces overall vessel weight without sacrificing structural integrity.

Key Features

  • Excellent strength-to-weight ratio
  • Fiberglass reinforcement increases mechanical properties over unreinforced foam
  • Approximately 30% lighter than marine plywood
  • Closed-cell, cross-linked polymer foam does not absorb water
  • Will not rot — an excellent structural replacement for wood
  • Bonds well to polyester or epoxy resin systems
  • 18 oz Woven Roving fiberglass reinforcement on both sides
  • Marine grade construction suitable for transoms and other structural projects
  • Plain (unscored) sheet format for custom fabrication
