Furuno SCX20 Satellite Compass - NMEA 2000

The Furuno SCX20 Satellite Compass is a compact, quad-antenna satellite compass that creates six unique baselines to calculate heading data with an accuracy of 1.0 degree. Its four separate GNSS antennas are designed to reduce signal loss and provide consistently reliable orientation data regardless of sea conditions. The flexible mounting options and compact form factor make this compass suitable for virtually any vessel size.

The SCX20 carries full NMEA 2000 certification, allowing it to connect directly and seamlessly to any existing NMEA 2000 network. It outputs a comprehensive set of data including time, position, heading, COG/SOG, rate of turn (ROT), roll, pitch, heave, 3-axis speed, air temperature, and air pressure — giving the entire onboard system a rich, accurate data stream to work from.

The SCX20 integrates with a wide range of Furuno equipment including NavNet TZ Touch multifunction displays, the NavPilot 300 autopilot, the FI70 instrument display, and the GP39 GPS navigator. Software updates may be required for some integrations. A NMEA 2000 starter kit and T-connector are required for network connection.

When paired with a compatible Furuno radar, the SCX20 delivers clean, steady echo trails free of the jagged or zigzag appearance that can result from less accurate heading sources. The NavPilot 300 benefits from the SCX20's precise, consistent heading output, helping maintain accurate courses that save time and fuel. Sonar and fishfinder displays also benefit, as the accurate pitch, roll, and heave data helps stabilize the image even in choppy water — making it easier to identify bottom types and locate fish.
