40mm Carbo Air® Single Block

The Harken 40mm Carbo Air Block with Swivel delivers smooth, efficient line control in an ultra-light, durable package that is roughly 30% lighter and 60% stronger than comparable Classic blocks. The open Air Block design eliminates excess material, while nylon-resin sideplates densely packed with long-glass fibers provide a compact body with a high strength-to-weight ratio. The sheave runs on high-load ball bearings in fitted races for low-friction performance, and a patented swivel shackle lets the block orient to the load and keeps line from twisting. All ball bearings, the sheave, and sideplates are UV-stabilized with carbon black for lasting protection.

Designed as a companion to Harken's popular Big Boat block range, this Carbo Air block punches well above its weight class, providing very high working loads for safe, easy trimming. It is well suited to jib and mainsheet systems on high-performance dinghies and loaded control lines on small keelboats, and also serves vangs, cunninghams, and outhauls.
