Black Magic Air blocks are a top favorite of big boat performance racers and cruisers. These lightweight, free-running, powerful performers are used for sail controls that see lots of action: mainsheet, runner, halyard, and spinnaker systems. A center cage keeps Torlon® roller bearings separated and parallel to reduce friction. Shackle blocks lock in two directions or swivel to keep line from twisting.
Built with precision aluminum construction and featuring 6061-T6 aluminum sideplates sculpted to remove excess weight, these blocks deliver a high strength-to-weight ratio ideal for offshore and racing applications. Thin-profile, deep groove aluminum sheaves have radiused edges to protect high-tech lines. The protective Hard Lube-anodized finish on sheaves and sideplates provides strength and durability for demanding marine environments.
Dissimilar metals are isolated to prevent corrosion through plastic isolators under all fastener heads and headposts. The three-way head design allows the set screw to lock the shackle in front or side positions, or to let the block swivel freely to keep line from twisting.
