The Harken 75mm Ratchamatic® Block — Swivel, 2x Grip is an advanced load-sensing ratchet block engineered for sailors competing in small one-design racing. As part of Harken's Power3 ratchet block system, it provides three distinct holding-power options, giving racers the flexibility to fine-tune their sail control setup to match prevailing wind and sea conditions.
The Carbo Ratchamatic® technology at the heart of this block allows it to roll freely in both directions under light loads, then automatically engage the ratchet mechanism as loads increase. This seamless transition between ratchet and light-air modes eliminates the need for manual adjustment during critical racing moments. The on/off switch operates from both sides of the block for added convenience.
The 2x grip mode is optimized for breezy conditions and puffs, delivering an impressive 30:1 holding power ratio that dramatically reduces the effort required to control sheets. The swivel base ensures smooth, unrestricted line routing from any angle, while the ball bearing sheave reduces friction for efficient load transfer.
