Lewmar Atlantic Portlight - Size 10, Opening, Thin Hull Spigot
The Lewmar Atlantic Portlight combines clean, contemporary styling with robust marine-grade construction, delivering a clear, unobstructed view through a smoke grey acrylic window. The outer frame is fabricated from heavy aluminium extrusion and features just a single welded joint, making it considerably stronger than Lewmar's Standard Portlight. Both inner and outer frames are deep-anodised for maximum corrosion resistance in saltwater environments. The 6 mm thick smoke grey acrylic lens is bonded directly to its own aluminium sub-frame to provide additional stiffness and a secure, watertight seal.
Quick-action metal handles apply the correct, even pressure around the full perimeter of the seal in the closed position and cannot vibrate open. Lewmar's friction hinge system allows the portlight to be held in any open position without the need for knobs, stays or straps, and all hinges and moving parts are fully corrosion-free. The external frame geometry is engineered to drain water away even when mounted on an angled coachroof side, preventing water ingress when the portlight is opened in wet conditions.
Installation is straightforward: the cut-out shape is simple, and the thin-hull spigot (valance) is designed for hulls between 8 mm and 15 mm (0.31"–0.59") thick. A thick-hull spigot variant is available separately for hulls 16–24 mm. Portlights must be fitted to a flat surface with a maximum tolerance of ±1 mm. At 24 mm hull thickness the opening angle is reduced to 115°. The portlight is CE approved for Category A, Area 1 installation (above the waterline in the hull). All portlights are supplied complete with fixings, an insect flyscreen on a nylon mesh moulded frame that clips to the outer frame, and an anodised aluminium interior trim ring.
