Lewmar Treadmaster Marine Adhesive

The Lewmar Treadmaster Marine Adhesive (JWTUEPX) is a two-part epoxy adhesive formulated to deliver the ultimate in bonding performance for Treadmaster non-skid deck materials. Suitable for use on fibreglass, aluminium, steel, and a broad range of other deck substrates, the adhesive produces a strong, waterproof, permanent bond capable of withstanding the most arduous marine conditions.

Each pack contains 300 g of Part A and 300 g of Part B, totalling 600 g when combined. One complete pack provides coverage of approximately 2 square metres and is sufficient to install two full 1200 x 900 mm sheets of Treadmaster. The adhesive is mixed at a simple 1:1 ratio by transferring the contents of container B into container A and blending thoroughly until the colour is completely uniform throughout the mix.

Under average environmental conditions, the mixed adhesive has a pot life of approximately 20 minutes in the container. Spreading the adhesive onto a flat plate after mixing helps dissipate the heat generated by the curing reaction and can extend working time. The adhesive should not be used when ambient temperatures fall below 10°C or exceed 30°C. Initial set occurs within 2–4 hours depending on conditions, with full bond strength achieved after 24 hours.

Application is performed using a serrated scraper applied to the underside of the Treadmaster panel. The panel is then positioned and rolled carefully from centre to edge to consolidate the adhesive layers and prevent air entrapment. Where panels are placed adjacent to one another, the adhesive should be allowed to extrude between edges to create a positive water seal. Excess adhesive is wiped away promptly with methylated spirit. Tools, brushes, and mixing vessels should also be cleaned with methylated spirit immediately after use.

Surfaces must be prepared before mixing: they must be clean, dry, and completely free of oil, grease, paint, varnish, wax, and polish. Fibreglass, aluminium, and steel surfaces should be lightly abraded with a nylon scouring pad and all dust removed prior to bonding. This product ships by ground only.
