The Lewmar V-Series Windlass Manual Recovery Kit (part number 66840056) provides essential emergency anchor retrieval capability for FastFit V-series windlasses. Designed specifically for V1, V2, and V3 gypsy/drum model windlasses manufactured after 2008, this kit allows you to manually raise your anchor using a standard winch handle if your windlass loses electrical power — a particularly prudent accessory for offshore or remote-area sailing.
The FastFit assembly system ensures rapid installation with correct drive shaft alignment. The splined shaft design delivers maximum strength and control during manual operation. In the newer FastFist windlasses, the deck unit is attached to the gearbox with a conspicuous hinged clamp, as opposed to older V-series models where the deck unit attaches to the gearbox with bolts in the traditional manner. Separate manual recovery kits are available for pre-2008 V1/V2/V3 windlasses as well as for V4 and V5 models.
