The 200mm (7.9 inch) Maddox Anode is a low-voltage anode that enhances anode performance for improved cathodic protection efficiency, reducing issues associated with overprotection. Over protection can look like coating failure on metallic structures, haloing around thru-hulls, and excessive growth on underwater surfaces. Over protection on wooden boats will cause alkaline degradation and delignification associated with over zincing.
The Maddox Anode features a unique shape and construction designed to increase surface area for maximum performance, efficiency, and longevity. Zinc-less and cadmium-free, the Maddox Anode is the most environmentally friendly choice for cathodic protection.
Maddox Anodes are for use on shaft drives, Volvo IPS, stainless steel swim platforms, trim tabs, and bronze/ stainless steel thrusters. Do NOT use Maddox anodes on aluminum hulls or parts.
The Maddox 200h, 300h, 500h all come with the same hole size: 0.43-inch (11mm) or M10 stud at 5.9-inch (150mm) hole center. All Maddox anodes come with locking washers that are required for fitment. It is highly recommended to use the MPS Conductive Grease to ensure longevity of connection and ease of anode replacement.
