Quicksilver Engine Exhaust Riser Kit 6"
The Quicksilver 8M0153486 is a genuine OEM exhaust riser kit delivering 6 inches (152 mm) of rise for Emissions Control (EC) and select non-emissions controlled MerCruiser engine applications. Sold as a pair, these risers are hot-dipped and top-coated to provide long-lasting corrosion resistance in demanding marine environments. The primary function of the riser kit is to elevate the exhaust system on compatible V-6 and V-8 small block engines, preventing water ingestion through the exhaust—a critical protection measure for inboard and sterndrive installations.
This kit is specifically engineered for newer catalytic engine applications and fits a broad range of MCM (sterndrive), MIE (inboard), and Ski configurations from 2008 onward. It also accommodates certain non-emissions controlled engines, making it a versatile replacement or upgrade option. Supersedes part numbers including 8M0104211, 8M0092052, 879288A30, and 8M0094682.
Important note: This kit does not include elbow gaskets for fresh water cooled (closed cooling) engines. The FWC elbow gaskets (part number 27-8M2004606) must be ordered separately for closed cooling system applications.
