Trim tab anode 853762T01 is for use on Mercury 8hp and 9.9hp outboards with standard or BigFoot gear cases. This zinc trim tab is for freshwater or saltwater use. The extended trim tab plate fits in the trim tab anode cavity of the anti-ventilation plate to help prevent corrosion of aluminum or stainless steel engine parts and aid in offsetting steering torque. Inspect anodes periodically for best protection and replace when seeing signs of corrosion or pitting. See your owner's manual or service manual for specific applications and replacement instructions.
