Protect your marine engine block and heat exchanger from internal galvanic corrosion with the Sea Shield Marine E-1G-COMPLETE Engine Pencil Zinc Anode. This complete assembly threads into engine cooling water passages via a high-quality 3/8" NPT brass pipe plug, placing the zinc anode directly within the cooling water channels where it guards internal engine components against the destructive effects of electrolysis.
The zinc rod measures 1/2" in diameter by 1" in length and weighs 0.12 lbs; a 11/16" wrench fits the brass plug for straightforward installation and removal. Conforming to military specification MIL-A-18001, the zinc alloy is specifically formulated for this application—engine manufacturers including Cummins, Yanmar, and Caterpillar rely on zinc for pencil anodes because aluminum pencil anodes are known to break at the neck and can block coolant channels. Compatible with Onan generator applications (replaces Onan 130-4434 and 130-1340).
