The Sea Shield Marine RB-XL Rope and Barnacle Guard in Extra Large is a dual-purpose propeller shaft seal and fouling protection system designed for larger vessels. This innovative guard prevents ropes and fishing line from wrapping around the shaft while simultaneously blocking barnacle and marine growth from accumulating on the shaft seal and stern tube area.
The RB-XL uses a durable, UV-stabilized elastomeric construction that flexes to maintain a consistent barrier without impeding shaft rotation or increasing drag. Ideal for commercial vessels, charter boats, and cruising sailboats that spend extended time at anchor or in heavily fouled waters. The extra large sizing accommodates shaft configurations not covered by standard guard sizes. Installation requires no special tools and can be performed afloat in most cases.
