For vessels with large rudders, oversized trim tabs, or wide flat surfaces in need of robust cathodic protection, the Sea Shield Marine Extra Large Zinc Rudder Button Anode (RB-XL-W/A) delivers the sacrificial mass needed to keep critical steering and control surfaces corrosion-free. Die-cast from MIL-A-18001 compliant zinc alloy and manufactured in California, USA, this extra large anode is part of Sea Shield Marine's renowned Rudder Button series—trusted by service divers and boatyards worldwide for over four decades.
Installation is simplified by the captive stainless steel Allen Head fastener, whose deep-slot design prevents driver slippage in the challenging underwater environment. The encapsulated nut remains securely within the anode body at all times, and integrated lock washers counteract the loosening effects of vibration and wave action. Flat mounting surfaces are optimal for this anode.
The extra large format provides extended protection intervals, reducing maintenance frequency for commercial operators and serious cruisers. Compatible with rudders, trim tabs, struts, and similar flat underwater surfaces. Replace when approximately half of the anode has been consumed to ensure continuous protection.
