TXL-25S-7 Digital Radar with 7' Open Array Scanner
96nm range with 96 nautical mile instrumented range and high-resolution 1.0° beam width, the TXL-25S-7 HD Digital Radar is suitable for both offshore and inshore use. A powerful 25kW transceiver means strong weather cells and front lines can be seen over 100 nautical miles away. Target Detection and RACON/SART triggering.
Installed just five metres (17 feet) above the waterline, the TXL-25S-7 HD Digital Radar will trigger RACONs (radar beacons) and SARTs (Search And Rescue Transponders) at a minimum range of five nautical miles. As these beacons are not triggered by FMCW Broadband™ radar, Simrad HD Digital Radar is ideal for vessels that rely on RACONs for navigation and collision avoidance, and for vessels frequently engaged in search-and-rescue operations.
When installed 15 metres (50 feet) above the waterline, the TXL-25S-7 scanner complies with all IMO IEC62388 Annex D target detection specifications. Note: The TXL-25S-7 does not constitute an IMO-approved navigational system for SOLAS vessels. Dual EBL/VRM, Dual Guard Zones Rapidly determine the bearing and distance to any radar target with dual Electronic Bearing Lines (EBL) and Variable Range Markers (VRM).
Dual Guard
Zones alarm on targets both entering and existing the zone, with independently configurable range and sensitivity.
Chart Overlay with High Speed Redraw
See radar targets – including other vessels, structures, and weather – directly overlaid onto navigational charts in real time. Chart overlay is available on select multifunction displays only, and requires an optional high-speed heading sensor. MARPA Target Tracking Track up to ten user-selected radar targets, displaying CPA (closest point of approach) and TCPA (time to closest point of approach) for each. MARPA functionality requires an optional high-speed heading sensor.
Auto Harbour and Offshore Modes
Automatic Harbour and Offshore modes provide tune, gain and sea clutter adjustments to suit current conditions, allowing convenient hands-off operation. Manual mode selection and custom tuning are also available.
High Reliability
Suitable for non-IMO commercial use, the TXL-25S-7 is built to commercial standards with long-life magnetron, brushless geared DC motor, and IPX6 waterproofing. This array is designed to withstand sustained wind loads up to 100 knots, while maintaining a minimum 20RPM rotation for reliable performance in any conditions.
Low Electromagnetic Emissions
The TXL-25S-7 meets all current and upcoming Low Emission standards for radar. With radiation safe distance within the turning circle of the antenna, this HD Digital Radar can be installed and operated almost anywhere.
Simrad GoFree™ Wireless Integration
View and control the TXL-25S-7 radar system wirelessly from compatible iOS or Android devices with the optional Simrad WiFi-1 module and GoFree™ wireless technology. Remotely view the current radar image, and control settings including radar guard zones, from anywhere on board. Available with NSS evo2 and NSO evo2 systems only.
Ethernet Connectivity
Simrad HD Digital Radar connects to any Simrad NSS, NSE or NSO multifunction display system via high-capacity Ethernet from a bulkhead-mounted interface box. Ethernet allows easy connection to multiple displays, and enables cable runs of up to 100 metres (328 feet) for simple and cost-effective installation on vessels of any size or bridge configuration.
