Smartgauge™ Battery Monitor
Easily monitor your primary and secondary battery voltage and primary state of charge.
An improvement over conventional amp hour meters that count amp hours in and out of a battery to determine the state of charge—but that don’t account for battery age, condition, temperature or other factors. The Balmar Smartgauge™ Battery Monitor uses just two wires to monitor the battery with no shunt required. Through these wires, connected directly to the positive terminals of one or both battery banks, proprietary test methods generate battery data. Aided by a self-correcting algorithm, the data is compared to virtual battery models to accurately determine the battery’s state of charge. In independent testing, Smartgauge was found to be within 5% accuracy at all times. The self-correcting algorithm also enables Smartgauge to self-adjust for battery degradation as it is repeatedly cycled.
