These clamshell-style hull strainers feature a mounting ring to allow removing the strainer as often as necessary to access the thru hull.
These Bronze Slotted Strainers were designed for use with an existing thru-hull fitting. They will keep debris from entering your water intake line, but still allow water to flow. Simply mount the ring to your hull, then mount the strainer to the ring.
Bronze strainers have an outer surface that is rough in feel and appearance, almost like it’s covered with sand. That’s because bronze strainers are sand cast, and then machined. Bronze is known for excellent resistance to harmful corrosion.
