Imtra Anchor Snubber for 5/16" Chain with 25' of 9/16" 3-Strand Nylon Line
The Imtra Anchor Snubber (SPA-SNUB2) is an important and practical addition for any vessel using an all-chain anchor rode. When anchored with chain alone, the lack of stretch in the rode can transmit shock loads directly to the windlass and deck hardware, causing noise and wear. This snubber solves that problem by transferring the anchor load from the windlass to a length of shock-absorbing nylon line.
To use, simply slip the snubber hook onto a link of chain after the anchor has been set, then tie off the 3-strand nylon tail to a cleat or samson post. Pay out additional chain with the windlass until the nylon tail is under load. The elasticity of the nylon line allows it to stretch slightly as the boat swings or surges on the anchor, absorbing shock loads and resulting in a noticeably easier and quieter ride at anchor.
This model is sized for 5/16" chain and includes 25 feet of 9/16" diameter 3-strand nylon line, providing ample scope for a comfortable snubbing arrangement on most cruising vessels. The combination of proper chain size compatibility and adequate line length makes this snubber a reliable and straightforward solution for everyday anchoring.
