Smooth sliding lower section adjusts up and down allowing bottom rungs to be kept out of the water, high and dry but ready for action. Double-rung locking mechanism secures ladder in selected position. Height of grab handles above dock is 21 3/4". Rungs are spaced one foot apart. In retracted position the distance from dock to bottom rung is 2'. When deployed, bottom rung is 4' below top of dock.
