When the windlass is not in use, the chain should be secured using a chain stopper, or the rope rode should be attached to a load-bearing point such as a cleat. The LEWMAR Deluxe Heavy-Duty Chain Stopper provides a reliable solution, working with your anchor roller to take tension off the windlass and keep the boat safely secured.
LEWMAR has engineered this chain stopper from heavy-duty cast 316 stainless steel, offering exceptional corrosion resistance and durability in demanding marine environments. The removable pawl design flips up when not in use, making deployment and stowage straightforward. The safe working load (SWL) of this stopper is greater than the SWL of the compatible 8mm (5/16") calibrated short link chain, giving you confidence in its holding strength. The stopper is compatible with ISO 4565 calibrated short link chain and mounts flush to the deck surface.
