R & D Marine’s flexible couplings protect your boat’s drivetrain from unexpected strikes and shock loads.
This flexible coupling installs easily between the transmission output flange and the shaft flange to absorb shock loads resulting from gear changes or from the propeller striking a submerged object. It’s made with a polyester elastomer and the metal compression strap keeps the coupling intact if the disc is destroyed, ensuring that the drive system still functions.
The coupling reduces engine noise and absorbs vibration, requires no machining and facilitates checking alignment. It’s impervious to saltwater as well as fuel and oils. If electrical continuity is required, an earthing connector can be fitted into the center of most units. R & D Marine flexible couplings come with the required installation hardware and are available for engines from 5 to 1,500 hp.
