Victron Energy Isolation Transformer 4500W Auto 115/230V
The Victron Energy Isolation Transformer 4500W Auto 115/230V (ITR050452042) electrically isolates your boat from shore power, eliminating the galvanic corrosion path through the shore ground while keeping onboard ground fault (GFCI) and short-circuit protection fully functional. Because there is no direct electrical connection between shore and vessel, the need for galvanic isolators and polarity alarms is removed, and sacrificial anodes, shafts, propellers and other underwater metal are protected from stray-current corrosion. The transformer automatically detects the incoming shore voltage: 88-130 VAC input selects 115V mode and 185-250 VAC selects 230V mode, with status LEDs indicating the active mode. Output can be configured for 120V or 240V, so it can also convert between 115V and 230V shore power on 50 or 60 Hz supplies (it does not change frequency). A 1:1.05 winding ratio boosts output voltage by 5% to compensate for the voltage drop common on long marina shore cords. Standard soft start limits inrush current so the shore power breaker does not trip at switch-on, and a temperature-controlled fan with overheat shutdown protects the unit. The low-noise, lightweight toroidal transformer is housed in a blue powder-coated aluminum IP21 enclosure for dry, ventilated interior mounting. Rated 4500W with 38A output at 115V or 19A at 230V; minimum cable size is 10 AWG (6 mm2) at 115V and 11 AWG (4 mm2) at 230V. Includes hanging bracket, 7 mounting screws, configuration jumpers, neutral-earth and input-output earth link jumpers, and a case grounding wire. Professional installation in accordance with ABYC and local regulations is recommended.
