What Diameter and How Much Line?
Diameter: The size, length and type of line will depend on a number of factors including the length, weight and type of boat. The following information is intended as a guide only. Docking in exposed waters, strong winds or tides may require larger or additional lines.
Length: Transient dock lines are typically about 2/3 of the boat's length when used on the bow and stern. Spring lines should be equal to your boat's length.
