ACR Electronics GlobalFix V5 AIS EPIRB with Return Link Service and Mobile App
The ACR GlobalFix V5 is an Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) that combines 406 MHz satellite distress signaling with Automatic Identification System (AIS) technology to support both global and local rescue efforts. Designed for recreational and commercial vessels, this Category I model includes an automatic float-free hydrostatic release bracket. When activated, the beacon transmits a distress alert and position information through the global Cospas-Sarsat satellite network while broadcasting an AIS distress notification to nearby AIS-equipped vessels within VHF range.
The GlobalFix V5 features a 72-channel multi-constellation GNSS receiver using GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS satellites for accurate positioning. Return Link Service (RLS) provides visual confirmation that the distress alert has been acknowledged by the satellite search-and-rescue system. Near Field Communication (NFC) allows users to access battery status, self-test results, GNSS test records, and activation history through the free ACR smartphone app.
A 121.5 MHz homing signal and high-visibility white and infrared strobes help rescuers locate the beacon during the final search phase. The waterproof, buoyant design features a replaceable lithium battery with a 10-year replacement interval and provides a minimum of 48 hours of operation at -4°F (-20°C).
